Ruhul Rahat ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Simple Mileage Tracker mobile application (the "App") under the package name com.simplelog.mileage.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of information that is processed through our App.
1. Summary (100% Privacy & Zero Server Collection)
The Simple Mileage Tracker is designed with an offline-first, local-only architecture.
- Zero Registration: You do not need to create an account, register, or sign in to use the App.
- No Database Sync: All trip data, vehicles, odometers, and mileage records you input are stored strictly on your local device. We do not operate databases or cloud servers that receive or compile your personal data.
- No Background GPS Tracking: Unlike other mileage apps, this App does NOT track your real-time background location or use GPS sensors in the background. All log entries are inputted manually, preserving your battery and ensuring complete location privacy.
2. Information We Collect and Process
Because the App runs entirely on your local device, our access to your data is virtually non-existent:
A. Data You Input (Stored Locally Only)
You manually enter the following information into the App:
- Vehicle profiles (Odometer readings, vehicle nicknames, and license plate numbers).
- Trip log details (Trip date, total mileage, odometer start/end numbers, custom notes, and trip categorization like "Business" vs. "Personal").
This data is saved in a secure sandbox on your device's local database and is never transmitted to us or any third parties.
B. Device Permissions
The App may request the following system permissions to support local workflows:
- Storage / Photos / Files (Media Access): Used solely to allow you to export your mileage reports locally to CSV or PDF files. No media files or personal directories are scanned, collected, or accessed.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
- No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, trade, rent, share, or disclose any data inputted into the App to third-party companies, marketers, or analytics providers.
- Legal Disclosure: Since we do not transmit or store your data on external servers, we do not possess any of your data to disclose to law enforcement, governments, or other regulatory bodies.
4. Data Retention, Control, and Deletion
- Complete User Ownership: You have absolute control over your records. You can modify, add, or delete any log entry or vehicle profile inside the App at any time.
- Instant Deletion: If you wish to delete all data permanently, you can do so by:
- Clearing the App's storage/cache in your Android system settings.
- Uninstalling the App.
Once uninstalled, all locally saved databases and records are permanently removed from your device and cannot be recovered.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. Because the App collects zero personal identifiers or user data, it is fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and does not collect any data from children.
6. Policy Updates
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this page periodically.
